  1. Funny that 2 tunes on the
wax to watch are contradictions to
    each other:

    I WON'T CRY ANY MORE
    I WISH I COULD CRY.

    What's next?
YOUR MA SAID YOU CRIED IN YOUR
    SLEEP LAST NIGHT?
Yep, that's coming up in 4-5 months.

There are more CRY tunes in
    pop history than songs about
trucks and beer in Country music.

    Just saying......

  2. 2 jazz tunes on the chart
    this week?

WATER BOY was not a big national
hit but did well in the IE,
    per KFXM. Great tune!

TAKE FIVE is the other one.

  3. "Water Boy" by Don Shirley Trio
Peaked @ #4 on KFWB and # 9 on KRLA in July '61.

It only got to #40 on Billboard.

  4. hey, Bob Harlow, sounds like you got a heavy-duty collection of music surveys to post for KFWB and KRLA!
got a place to share it all somewhere????????

  5. I do have all the KRLA 1959-65
Many are in house lists from '62 & 63, and all KFWB's from 1958-66
(except for the 2nd one Jan 11, 1958 which may never have been published)

You can find many dates at:

    kfwb98.blogspot.com

Great color copies of KFWB Fab 40 Surveys a few 1958 most 1959-early '62.

    Many KRLA Surveys 1960 & 1961
    some KDAY Surveys

    Another good source is:

    www.oldiesloon.com

    has retypes of KFWB 1958-1967
    KRLA 1959-1966.

The first few 1958 KFWB's on Oldiesloon are not from the real Fab Forty Surveys. I don't know where they got them..maybe Music City in Hollywood.

If you are looking for dates not covered I would be glad to help you out.

  6. wowee, Bob, many thanks for the source URL's and info on your pop music survey collection. pretty amazing having the actual stats from those two great L.A. stations during the golden heyday of AM-Radio. will retain your e-'dress in confidence for use if and when it's needed. again, thank you, man.

  7. the really rare ones are the pre-1965 surveys from KGFJ. Anyone have a lead on any of these surveys?
