  1. The summer of 1967, the Summer of Love, KFXM and KMEN were great rivals, fantastic concerts at the Orange Show Grounds, I had just gotton my driver's license and my clunker car that Spring, and I didn't really have a care in the world. Life was so sweet back then.

  2. I've always appreciated DAY FOR
    DECISION. Very heartfelt
    words and always applied anytime
if you just change it to
    current affairs.
    However, not feeling too proud
    of my country anymore.
    The current political status
    is abhorring at all levels.
No need to look for external
    threats to this country.
We have them coast to coast
    on all our elected officials
    from President to Mayors.
I will not be hearing this
    tune this year. Not feeling
    any pride this time.

By the way DFD was out a year
    earlier but it applied very
    well anytime, except lately.
Kids, we are in a mess.

  3. MEGA DITTOS on the last post, everything the poster stated is true for me as well. Couldn't have made the case better for the deterioration of our nation.

On k/Men magazine foto: I didn't know Buffalo Chicks were in vogue back then in 1967 but that's way cool with me!

  4. I don't know that I would have been attracted to the Buffalo Chicks in 1967 but they're looking pretty good to me right now.

  5. As I was walking down the street
Down the street, down the street
A pretty girl I chanced to meet
And we danced by the light of the moon

Buffalo gals won't you come out tonight
Come out tonight come out tonight
Buffalo gals won't you come out tonight
And we'll dance by the light of the moon

I danced with a gal with a hole in her stocking
And he knees was a-knockin' and her shoes was a'rockin'
I danced with a gal with a hole in her stocking
And we danced by the light of the moon

  7. Times change. In 1966 it was "Ballad of the Green Berets" and the Green Berets were the wonder soldiers. Now the wonder soldiers are the Navy Seals. The Navy Seals have more of a "Mission Impossible" style I guess. The Green Berets are now Army Special Forces.

  8. This is the 2nd go round for
    Society's Child. First time
was November 1966. Not a big
hit at that time. Wow it really
    exploded 2nd time in 1967.

    Janis Ian looked kinda homely.
And that was a good thing.
She gave us "At Seventeen" in the 70s.
    A reflection of no-so-pretty
    girls and their peers.
    Her looks just helped in
    understanding the song.

  9. Some stations did not play
    DON'T SLEEP IN THE SUBWAY.
They considered the line "...take off
your coat and close the door..."
a bit sexual. We were still a prudish country. How times
have changed with rap. Now anything
    goes.

  10. The Sonny Bono single related
to the upcoming addition to the
    Bono family.
    That would be Chastity.
    Chaz Bono today.

By the way, why is we never
see Chaz Bono and George Zimmerman
    in the same room.
Are they both one and the same?
    Just a funny I heard.

  11. Hey! Those Beefalo Chicks can be quite cozy and accomodating for the right guy who appreciates 'em.

And is Chaz Bono REALLY George Zimmerman in disguise?
    Why yes, "I guarantee it!"

  12. Buffalo Chicks got no reason
    Buffalo Chicks got no reason
    Buffalo Chicks got no reason
    To slim down

    They got swollen hands
    beady eyes
    They walk around
    Sayin' "come what lies"
    They got puggy noses
    And really raunchy teeth
    They wear steele-tiped boots
    On their huge smelly feet

Well, I don't want no Buffalo Chicks
    Don't want no Buffalo Chicks
    Don't want no Buffalo Chicks
    On top of me!

  13. I think there may be some "Buffalo Boys" making fun of "Buffalo Girls".

  14. LMAO about that song someone posted.
Buffalo Chicks are rad but not my fad!
