  1. It's been a long time since I've heard "Ahab the Arab" (#2 on the Kmen chart). Maybe in these times of being politically correct some songs don't fit the mold.

  2. I hear that song plenty of
    times on KFXM.com.
No PC there. It was a hit
    then and worth hearing again.

    Another Ray Stevens so UN-PC
    was MR BUSINESSMAN. Some stations
refused to play it after a while
    because advertisers were offended by
    the lyrics. Business men.

  3. We played Ahab to death right after 9-11 at KDES, no complaints. KFXM was slow to add Mr. Business man for the reasons stated. Dick Bartley recently played it on his national ABC radio weekend show. KDES did get a few complaints when we played Edwin Starrs "War" during the initial action in Iraq but nobody calls when we play it now. Jonny Bruce

  4. More Ray Stevens:

    Nobody but nobody ever plays
    THE GREAT ESCAPE. Around
    9/68. I have original promo
copy. Don't think it went far
but it was great to hear back
    then.

This one has no political or humorous
    insinuations. Just a great
    rockin song by Ray Stevens.
