It's been a long time since I've heard "Ahab the Arab" (#2 on the Kmen chart). Maybe in these times of being politically correct some songs don't fit the mold.

No PC there. It was a hit
then and worth hearing again.
Another Ray Stevens so UN-PC
was MR BUSINESSMAN. Some stations
refused to play it after a while
because advertisers were offended by
the lyrics. Business men.
We played Ahab to death right after 9-11 at KDES, no complaints. KFXM was slow to add Mr. Business man for the reasons stated. Dick Bartley recently played it on his national ABC radio weekend show. KDES did get a few complaints when we played Edwin Starrs "War" during the initial action in Iraq but nobody calls when we play it now. Jonny Bruce
