the recording, "Psycho" listed at the Number Sixteen position on this week's KFXM survey for 1960 was a novelty song by Rhythm & Blues vocalist Bobby Hendricks done with famous New York disk jockey Dr. Jive. it was a satirical take-off from the movie of the same name that year issued during the historic national election between Jack Kennedy and Richard Milhous.

Welk version of LAST DATE.
It is rather lame and sounds
amateurish when we all know
the Floyd Cramer version and
the real hit version.
I'd call it early garage sound.
Horrible mix and makes you yearn
for the Cramer version.
Anyway, KFXM gave Welk credit
as #1 along with Cramer.
So it goes and you go figure it out.
