  1. coming up strong at #2:
Ferrante & Teicher -- "The Twin Pianists" as they were called back then -- with their first major
TopTen hit recording from the movie of the same name,
"E-X-O-D-U-S-". a superb-O flick plus this theme song version is one of my all-time instrumental listening tunes.

  2. I see KFXM finally dropped LAWRENCE WELK from LAST DATE. This was strictly a FLOYD CRAMER hit.
Why WELK was given cocredit as also
having the hit is beyond history.

But wait, here comes LW with his
best ever: CALCUTTA. This one will
be a big hit and great to listen to.
    LW redeems himself with this.
The LAWRENCE WELK SHOW still runs on
a lot of PBS stations; KVCR-TV in
Berdoo is one of them. Quite a
hoot to watch this show in
    retrospective. It's so corny it's
not only a music show but comedic
because of the way it was. That
innocence is gone from today's super-produced shows.

  3. dittos on Anony's comments re
Lawrence Welk and His Champagne Orchestra... yes, the instrumental recording of "Calcutta" was a real tongue-tapper in its day!
and now, with the bubbles falling around us, everyone is having a wunnerful, wunnerful time.
