KFXM This Week in 1973

Yes, 1973 was 40 years ago.  Here is a KFXM survey.  There were no K/men surveys after August of this year.
No DJ pictures, but there is a list of their names and air times below under Music Notes

  1. Marsh Carter listed on this survey.
    Right on, "Mush-Mouth"!

  2. The KFXM Tiger mascot seems to have gotten younger in this survey. Was KFXM trying to appeal to younger listeners?

  3. I never heard of the Turntable at East 5th and Alabama. Sounds like it would be in the middle of nowhere now and was probably more far out in 1973. Was there any club or business at that location, before or after, whose name would be more recognizable?

  4. Yeah, if I remember correctly, there was a nudie bar hangout before that named "For Adults Only"...
Kmen radio used to run continuous commercials for that femme-exploitative establishment!

  5. Dittos the last poster. I recall those cheesy spots that KMEN aired about For Adults Only. The ad said they had "the best nude entertainment with well drinks for a dollar".

  6. It's a comfort to know that fans of this blog have such thorough historical knowledge of their 'hood.

  7. If the previous poster means
did we know where all the nudie bars were, well hell yes... Those were desperate times back then for
many of us single dee jays!
