  1. Is this the debut of Jackie DeShannon? Never heard of her
    before this week in 1961.
    Nothing between this and
    THE PRINCE in early 62??

  3. Jackie de Shannon started with Liberty Records in 1960 and had a few before this one. There was at least one in between "Heaven Is Being With You" and "The Prince"
It was called "Baby".It was released in the Fall of '61.

  4. "Teach Me" was her first 1960s release on Liberty, but she had various sides on little labels like Edison International just before Liberty - also on Sage & Sand with "Trouble" - the Elvis song and in '58 she was on Liberty as Jackie Dee - Buddy - both pure rockers.

    "Baby" came along after "Heaven..."

Here's a good link to her hits in
chronological order. Way back to 1956

    My favorite are:
    THE PRINCE
WHEN YOU WALK IN THE ROOM
    LOVE WILL FIND A WAY
PUT A LITTLE LOVE IN YOUR HEART.

    Is she still alive????

  6. I also liked THE PRINCE for this reason:
I heard it over and over the month KMEN
    started in March 1962.
Fond memories of an era that ROCKED
the Inland Empire and make radio fun
on both stations when KFXM finally got
competetive in 1964 under Al Anthony.

  7. My fav Jackie De Shannon's

    "You Won't Forget Me"
    "Needles & Pins"
"When You Walk In The Room"

I think "Heaven Is being With You"
was written by Jerry Goffin & Carole King

  9. We were lucky to be around for
both stations in the mid 60s in the
    IE.
But even luckier in LA where
KHJ just blew everyone away in 5/65.
That become the model for all Rock
    stations to follow.
CARRY ME BACK for a short visit.
    Not asking for much.
