another KFXM July 24, 1974

Here is something official on this week's survey.  The control room copy of the survey, which matches my own typed copy of the July 24th survey.  Thanks to one of the KFXM DJs (see his V.Moreno stamp on the survey) Thank you!  Interesting to see the extra comments and stats  not normally seen on a normal survey.

KFXM July 24, 1974

No copy of published survey this week. The next 1974 survey is dated August 7, which I had added the date July 31, 1974.  So I'm assuming I listened to this week's countdown , because it is complete for this week (no memory of this).  And then there wasn't one printed (of found) for next week. It was a long time ago.

Happy 4th! Celebrate 40 Years Ago

Back in 1972, I was there.  This took place at the National Orange Show Racetrack on E Street.
Of the groups playing, I really wanted to see Freddie Cannon.  Freddie was the last one to come on, and it was getting dark.  Most of the other groups before Freddie did not do a good job.  I don't think The Drifters even made it to the stage.   The people didn't want to hear the music, but wanted to see the fireworks.  People were yelling for the fireworks to begin.  Freddie Cannon came on, and people were still yelling.  He did only one song, Action.  It was great, but people didn't want to hear him.  They only wanted the fireworks.

Undercover Angel-Alan O'Day #1  This is the 6th week this song has been #1.  And guess what will be #1 next week? That is really strange.  Songs like Life In The Fast Lane-Eagles or Dreams-Fleetwood Mac didn't get to #1 on the survey, but that's how it goes.
