The Evolution of Charlie Walters

This week 40 years ago Charlie Walters gets his own regular time slot on KFXM. If you remember, his picture was in a December Tiger Mag as part of the group employee shot. Someone had mentioned that he worked on the air at KDUO, the sister station of KFXM

The Evolution of Charlie Walters (continued)

Charlie continued through October 1968 until the Jones Boys took over KFXM. I don't think he was one of the Jones Boys, but I don't know that for sure.

October 1969 Charlie was back on KFXM (when Danny Dare left) with a litlle bit hipper look. He stayed until June 1970 when he was relaced by Chris Roberts.

KFXM Button

Found this button this last Sunday at the swap meet. It had the pin removed from the back and magnet attached.
(early refrigerator magnet) I don't remember this button. But I do have a similar bumper sticker that came out in the sevnties.
Does anyone have any more history on this button? 59 KFXM we're the one!

K/mentertainer January 28, 1967

Hot air balloon makes the cover again this week, with articles by Brian Lord and William F. Williams featuring their caricatures from the past. John Ravencroft talking about the next single by the Beatles might be a song called Strawberry Fields Forever. It's possible! Also a possibility of Jimmy Page leaving the Yardbirds. I guess that didn't happened, or the Yardbirds wouldn't have gone to the New Yardbirds to Led Zeppilin

Both K/MEN and KFXM agreed on the #1 record this week The Rolling Stones Let's Spend The Night Together/Ruby Tuesday. Highest newcomer to the top 10 this week Niki Hokey-P.J. Proby. This week on KFXM dropped down to #32. Big difference. New song listed here Break On Through-Doors---their debut single.

This is the last week for Bill Surrey on KFXM, and Al Anthony doesn't have a regular time slot after this week. He's more into managing the station. Next week Charlie Walters becomes the new guy, when the lineup shrinks from6 to 5 jocks. Since Charlie Walters gets many comments when he is mentioned here.....Next Week a tribute to the new guy!

At this I'm having some technical difficulties posting pictures. I'm posting the last two of the K/mentertainer front page and survey for Jan 7. They go through the posting phase, and never show up on the blog. I'm working on it.
As you can now see it's working again!!!
