KFXM and K/men This week in 1971

Unnamed KFXM dj is Doug Collins

The stations were not very close in their rankings of their survey songs this week in 1971.

What an amazing look back at the Summer Hits of '71, including an amalgam of such diverse (now classic) recording acts like Rare Earth, The Dramatics, Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds, Buddy Miles, James Brown, The Moody Blues, Diana Ross, Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, Chicago, Paul & Linda McCartney (in essense Wings), The Isley Brothers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elvis Presley, Blood Sweat & Tears, Cat Stevens, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, The Doors, Gladys Knight & The Pips, B.J. Thomas, Bill Withers, Johnny Rivers, Lee Michaels, John Denver, Rod Stewart, The Carpenters, Marvin Gaye, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band... and of course, the bubblegum crowd with The Osmonds, Jackson Five, Donny Osmond, and Mac & Katie Kissoon.
Both stations' playlists were really steamin' during that ratings period!

If I remember right Al Brooks had radio roots from SBVC/KVCR-FM, along with many other SoCal radio folks. Does anyone know if he stayed with radio after KFXM and where he went?

I heard he did a radio gig in Sacramento on the FM side for a Number One station. This was during the 1980's or 1990's era, can't be more exact. Or at least there WAS a DJ surnamed Brooks on the air over there.
