K/mentertainer Aug 19, 1967

We saw before that Dave McCormick looks like Mr Spock. Now Robert E. Walker is a look-a-like for Tommy Roe
1967 The Youngbloods hit the charts with Get Together. KMEN recognizes the song as a hit, putting their picture on the cover stating, one of the fastest rising singles, and one of the most requested. Nationally, it had to wait until 1969 to hit the top ten. #1 Ode To Billie Joe-Bobbie Gentry
New to the top thirty this week #26-30 There Is A Mountain-Donovan, I Dig Rock & Roll Music-Peter, Paul & Mary, I Had A Dream-Paul Revere & The Raiders, Soul Finger-BarKays, and Fakin' It-Simon & Garfunkel
Interesting that Jimi Hendrix as Purple Haze on the charts and Cher is hit bound with Hey Joe

interesting about Hey Joe and
Purple Haze.

Another very very interesting
one is GET TOGETHER by the Youngbloods.
This one would fail at this
time in 1967. However, same song comes
back in 1969 and becomes the
anthem of the 60s Love Generation.
Amazing how the same song would
be a loser at one time and then
one of the greatest hits of all time just 2 years later.
Same group same version.
What's that all about???

Yes, we at KFXM always thought Rob't E. looked like Tommy Roe. Big Daddy Dave as Spock ? Never thought about that, but I guess so. Jonny Bruce

I believe Get Together was in a public service commercial, and that got it started up the charts again. Anyone have any other details?

I read somewhere that after if DID hit in 1969, the record company senta copy of it to every member in Congress. Took another four years to end the war, though.
