KFXM and K/men October 11, 1963

Changes for both KFXM and K/MEN
KFXM has a completely new lineup, and "TheSurvey With The Hits On Top" Big Top 40
New on KFXM are pictures and biographies of the new KFX-"M"-Squad. I think KMEN was having an effect on KFXM.
First picture and biography is the world famous Larry Lujack coming from KNEW in Spokane, WA leaving his high ratings to come to San Bernardino. Notice KFXM's address listed above is now 666 Fairway Dr, San Bernardino

#1 again this week is Sugar Shack-Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs
Highest debut I Worry About You-Etta James #25
New this week Elvis Presley Bossa Nova Baby/Witchcraft
The Truant-The Truants A local hit produced by Bill Bellman a KFXM employee
Gone are Steve Jay, Lyle Kilgore, Jack Fleming, Bill Tanner, Bob Griffin, and Andy Thompson
The new guys are Larry lujack, Bob Holmes, John Stone, Jerry Brooke, Lynn Bryson, and Bob Davis
The lone survivor appears to be Jack Sands
New pictures of the K/men For the first time we see Jim Mitchell

#1 this week Sugar Shack-Fireballs highest debut Wild-Dee Dee Sharp #7
new this week
Tie Me Surfer Board Down Sport-Travellers based on a very popular Rolf Harris song
Torque-The Torques on Rock-It Records This was not actually the title or the group. This turns out to be The Truant by The Truants
Does anyone know the story behind this? On KFXM it was listed as The Truant

I remember the hullaballoo about
KFXM moving to the Holiday Inn.

45 years later it's sad to go by there and see it in disrepair.
But moving there was the start
of KFXM reinventing itself and
seriously competing with KMEN.
The next 2 years would prove great
radio at both stations.

This is such a great blog Doug. Keep up the incredible work. My days in Inland Empire radio will always be close to my heart since I grew up in Rialto/Bloomington/Fontana and first fell in love with radio when I was 13 listening to KFXM and then a year later to both KFXM and K/men (both of which I was lucky enough to eventually land my own shifts on).
