Burger Chef Grand Opening. It mentions you can register to win at any Burger Chef. There was more than one? Anyone remember this place? I don't.

I remember the Burger Chef on Highland. It was just west of Sterling on the south side of the street AND I recall seeing the two KMEN transmitter towers (east of Sterling on Baseline) from the parking lot. The food was not memorable at all.
I went to the Burger Chef across from SBVC on Mt Vernon Avenue frequently when I was at SBVC from 09/69 - 06/71. The Fontana location was on the north side of Foothill across from the Fontana Square Shopping Center.Their food was just run-of-the-mill.

Did you know that San Bernardino was the "home" of fast food restaurants in the nation.....many were started there.

At one time, Burger Chef was the third largest hamburger chain in America. In the 80's, they were purchased by Hardee's which is now owned by Carl's Jr. At some Hardee's locations, they serve the Big Shef, Burger Chef's signature hamburger.
