KFXM September 14, 1962

Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett #1
New in the top ten
Teenage Idol-Ricky Nelson #5
Highest debut
You Belong To Me-Duprees #26
What is interesting is that the top 4 songs you could still hear on a regular basis on an oldies radio station today.  If you could find one that still plays music from the sixties.  Well maybe KRTH.
New
Ramblin' Rose-Nat "King" Cole
Monster Twist-Tyroneasauras
King Of The Whole Wide World-Elvis Presley
KFXM giving away Disneyland tickets and books of passes in 1962.  Remember when you used  A through E tickets to get on a ride?

This Summer was an E coupon ride
if you listened to IE radio.
Both stations gearing up for
major competition to come.

KFXM was still at the California
hotel (offices) with studios and
xmtr by the 10/215. Holiday Inn
was in the planning works.
KFXM would move in there by
October 1963.
See what you get for not asking.

Wasn't the K.F.X.M. transmitter and antennas tower system located on the former Orange Show Golf Course on Fairway Drive?

Yes, by 10/215 freeways.
Just west of the 215.
Still there amongst numerous car dealers. What happened to
the antenna ground system when all
those buildings erected? 3 towers
at that.
