Happy 30 Years KGGI 99.1

Something Harley Davidson had mentioned to me awhile back, and Bill Earl reminded me of today. KGGI 99.1 has been around for 30 years, and I guess they are celebrating their 30th Anniversary tonight.
KGGI and K/men were sister stations, but in 1979 K/men was playing oldies, while KGGI was top 40. It looks like they took the K/mentertainer and adapted it for KGGI (why didn't it become KMEN-FM?)
As far as I know this was the first KGGI publication/survey
DJs are ?, Lisa Giles, Benny Martinez, Brian White, Bob West, Cliff Roberts
#1 Album Get The Knack-The Knack
My Sharona-The Knack #1

Dave Leonard told me that he would post photos from last night's reunion on his Facebook photo album...i'll send the URL coordinates in another comment here...in 1979, AM was looked upon as a dieing band and FM was cooler...so they emphasized K-99-1 (looks like Kggi)...with a female on the DJ staff maybe they thought K-MEN was outdated or sexist...

I've only been on Facebook for 3 weeks, so i don't know all the ins and outs...one may have to be a "friend" of david to see his photos..but the URL that i was able to see OTHER radio photos of his is:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=17058&id=1559293483
if that doesn't work , just find David Leonard on Facebook.

Lisa Giles was promotion director for KDES/KPSI until last year. She did a few airshifts on 100.5 KPSI-FM Palm Springs as well. Jonny Bruce
