There's another one of those charters on one station and not on the other. #12 on KFXM and nowhere to be found on KMEN: Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep. Great great tune and never heard from again. Good rockin tune. Nothing heavy, just a catchy song.
So why so popular on KFXM and no honorable mentions at all on KMEN?? This has happened throughout the history of pop music all over the US. Isolated hits.
i can personally testify to the fact that a certain music director absolutely HATED that catchy little ditty by Mac and Katie Kassoon and simply would NOT allow it on to the playlist" of his 'Truckin' station... i was blown over hearing this admission after continually hearing how "objective our music surveys are than the 'other station's"! just an example that despite so-called objectivity from various program and music directors throughout the nation, a lot of recordings were either added or "weighed down" due to the PERSONAL preferences of the radio people including are our own local music programmers. tis sad but, true, nonetheless.
