Question on ONE TIN SOLDIER.
This is by Original Caste.
When it was done in 1972 it
was by Coven.
Is it the same group??
I know they were on different labels.
good trivia query about "One Tin Soldier":
Original Caste was a pop group from Canada who hit the charts originally (no pun intended) with this initial version issued on T-A Records in late 1969.
Later, a pop quintet group, Coven, recorded the song used in the movie "Billy Jack" with their first version (on Warner Bros. Records) in 1971 and a re-recorded version put out on the MGM label in 1973.
for me, it all depends which way you like your toast buttered...
both groups' song versions still hold up for a memorable listen after all these years.
