!972 was the last year K/MEN printed up a Top Hits of the year to be distributed. Their last survey was August 10, 1973, so no 1973 Top 100
The official KFXM Top 100 of 1972. #95 is actually Keeper Of The Castle-Four Tops
My calculated hits of 1972 from the KFXM surveys

Doug, there's a discrepancy about your last posted list.
Is it for KFXM top hits of 19-7-3
or "19-7-2" as shown on your calculated countdown? Confusing, so please clarify, thanks.
Fixed it. 1972
as one can see from viewing the posted copy of the KMEN "TOP 129 HITS" listing, it was cheaply produced! during that period under owner Veljon, Inc., an austerity program was underway, department budgets were cut way down and cost-effective management was the rule of the day.
therefore, we simply had the handwritten list typed up by our secretary (Pamela), then zeroxed on our machine and i rubber-stamped the copies with the station's logo. a sad commentary about the state of affairs going on at Radio 1290 at that time -- just prior to its sale to millionare broadcaster Lincoln Dellar, who finally put some real money back into upgrading KMEN and all of its operations.
Yeah, I agree with Mr. Darth about his comments on the "sad...state of affairs" that went on at K/men after Veljon took over. And they really were as cheap especially in cutting D.J.'s pay including mine. That's why after I gave that once-great radio station my best shot but never given the pay I deserved for my ratings (which were high for my time period), I then finally quit in disgust!
Sure wish I knew about that Lincoln Dellar guy with his money bags taking over because I sure would have tried getting back on the air there except that my next radio gig in Canada worked out even better (and for my Selective Service status).
