Doug is correct: this was the era of grand remakes of pop, rock & roll, and rhythm 'n' blues hits from earlier in the decade and from the 1950's... would be a prelude to the same record industry idiosyncrasy of remaking hit records from the 1930's and 1940's during the coming Disco Era of the mid-1970's.

In DISCO days, CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO became thump...thump..thump.

one of the best Disco remakes of a song from the Big Band Era was by The Ritchie Family with their #11 charted version of the 1943 original recording by Xavier Cugat and His Waldorf-Astoria Orchestra called "Brazil"(went to #2 nationally)...
now there was truly a great dance tune (and the ole Wolfman did boogie to it)!
