A year and half from now they'll have a hit with BUSTIN' SURFBOARDS.
find no mention of "The TORNADOES" on this week's poop sheet... could Anony/Administrator have referred to "The FORZANDOS" -- who were but, one act appearing for the local March of Dimes Dance & Show event listed at The National Orange Show???
BTW: the only Tornadoes act of historical consequence in memory was the British surf-rock group organised in 1962 by London Records producer Joe Meek, the same act who later recorded the Number One hit "Telstar" (named after the first American telecom satellite).
during the same period, there was a local group from Redlands, CA, The TORNADOES (AKA The Hollywood Tornadoes) -- not to be confused with the former. these guys, who landed on Aertaun Records, were not able to repeat the modest success of "Bustin' Surfboards"; seems their 2nd record release titled "Shootin' Beavers" was evidently banned from radio airplay due to its (then) suggestive double entendre meaning...
guess there were too many nature lovers back then, perhaps!
ah vell, Dougmaster, the print in the pre-Tune Sheet surveys is already miniscule at best, and a cursory glance of the listings is not always apt to be exactly what the mind perceives. i use the mouse magnifier for reading all that small stuff what comes across my video screen since my own eyes are in bad shape!
