Remembering this time 35 years ago, it was the doldrums of music to me. It just didn't have a fire to the music being played. It was kind of a dull period in music.
Hang on, Disco is coming next year. That woke up radio unlike ever before. Dooodooodooodoooo doodoo....it's time to get down.....
You have no taste if you think disco was superior to 1973 music. Sure there was a lot of ballads and sappy shit, but there was a ton of LP cuts, only little kids followed just the Top 30.
