I see RAT RACE (Theme from..) got up to #4 so far. This was a major hit and yet never heard from again in the scheme of "oldies". Can't even find it on YOUTUBE. That's ok, I still have my trusty 45 of this.
All clunkers on WAX TO WATCH. It even looks like ANNETTE's days of hits are over. She had 3 and will always be remembered for them. Oh yea and some little show called THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB and the Beach movies...... Not bad for a teenager then. I think she's still alive but not in great condition. Sorry to see that but will always remember her teen image.
yes, poor Annette has been wheelchair bound (if that much) due to progressive Multiple Sclerosis disease. it is so sad to see great people wasting away just like the great British theortical physicist, Dr. Stephen Hawking, who also suffers from a related affliction called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis...

"The Rat Race" by Richard Maltby
never made the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. It was a huge hit in LA
on KRLA and KFWB as well as KFXM.
There is another great instrumental on the Wax To Watch
list. "Freeway" by the Fugitives
Bob Harlow

"Rat Race"... yeah, man, with Sam Butera playing along on this recording, this was a hot hep disk to listen to!
I met ANNETTE 20 years ago at the party commemorating the opening of Splash Mountain at Disneyland. She couldn't have been nicer.
