about Charlie Walters: last report of him comes from decades ago, that he ended up an ambulance driver and later became a paramedic in the Monterey area. since then, nada else.
BILL "THE" BELLMAN was always more than just an advertising executive for KFXM/KDUO-FM.
during this gentleman's heydays, he was the epitome of an entertaining artist encompassing the Golden Age of live radio broadcasting back when the networks ruled the aural airwaves. his broadcasting responsibilities included staff announcing, playing "canned music", hosting various shows, commercial announcer, selling "block time" for specific programs, newsman and live reporting, producing show and so much more. this meant that Bill was always 'hobnobbing' with the rich and the famous, whether they were radio stars, actors, music band and orchestra leaders, singers, vocal groups, comedy teams, and on and on. Bill "The" Bellman had countless memories in story form ready to tell anyone within earshot and the luck to be there listening to him. i was once one of the fortunate few who Bill had taken a liking to, spending endless hours regaling me with the grand times of his historic radio career. here's to you, Bill, wherever you are... "Going up, said The Bellman?"
