So, does this mean that rock and roll didn't get played much on jukeboxes? That was good news for Englebert Humperdinck and Dean Martin in 1967.

I was going through some papers this weekend when I ran across a name and a question I had from someone a few years ago.
I had talked to a woman about 5 years ago, whose father had jocked at KFXM in the late 40s and early 50s. Her name is Susan. She stated her father had died when she was a very young girl in the early 50s. She was looking for information and an aircheck so she could hear her father's voice. I could not find anything on her father "Bob Collins" I found others with the name Bob Collins, but no one from that time period.
From the time period she was talking about, he probably worked with, or at the same time as "Tennessee" Ernie Ford. Did not find anything on the internet for -Bob Collins KFXM- from the 1950s.
Anyone out there have any information, or an aircheck? Thank you.

It's 1967 and Bobby Vinton has the #1 song Please Love Me Forever. I think that is amazing. Don't tell anybody, but I like Bobby Vinton from Roses Are Red in 1962 to Midnight Show in 1975 (not a hit, but I remember hearing on the radio, and it didn't sound like a Bobby Vinton song-good song, and not a polka).

Highest debut #33 Beautiful People-Kenny O'Dell, Bobby Vee (Bobbys are making a comeback)has a version out, although his version did not get played much around the Inland Empire.

Pata Pata-Miriam Makeba hitting the charts. One of my wife's favorite from around this time.

My favorite debut on the chart this week, Judy In Disguise (With Glasses)-John Fred & His Playboy Band. Until recently it was overplayed on the radio (and I listened every time), but now you never hear it anymore.

Massachusetts-Bee Gees Personal Pick. By this time I was buying all their singles.

I Heard It Through The Grapevine-Gladys Knight & The Pips. I say it's so much better than Marvin Gayes' version
