ANYBODY GOT A LINE on how Ron Christian is doing these days???
(his brother/DJ, Roger, passed on some years ago)
hope Ron is doing well. he was a great guy to know at one time.

I never knew they were brothers until I saw the picture of Ron on Doug's blog this morning. They almost look like twins!!

When was Ron at KFXM the first time?
I don't have a memory on that one.

Where did Thom Devine go to after
KFXM? He really belonged on KMET
at the time.
Had great ideas on music mixes
that didn't fit the Mighty 590 back
then. But they were right on for
the Mighty MET.

TO THE HELMSMAN:
hi there, Johnny. yes, the elder Roger and younger Ron did appear
sibling related at first notice!
both are/were photogenic guys in their day.

i believe Ron did a brief stint at KF around the mid-1960's (have to check my dusty records). like i said, he was a wonderful gentleman to befriend but always lived in his brother's shadow although i thought he stood well on his own in the DJ booth.

as far as Thom Devine, he was never quite in sync with Inland Empire radio during his time at KF and was relieved to return back to his olde stomping grounds in the Deep South... might have WHBQ at that time if memory serves (again, must check me files).

Ron Christian-I know it says "Back on the BIG 59" but researching older surveys, I didn't find his name anywhere. Maybe weekends without survey credit? He was on K/men Jan-July 1967.

RON CHRISTIAN was doing some KF relief/weekends stints before returning next decade for his own night shift gig. and yes, he also worked across the street, but what the hey... a job is a job (in radio) with the accompanying experience that comes with it, yes?

I asked and received this answer from Thom (Tom) Devine
Tom Devine June 12 at 9:44am Doug...I did a quick sketch of post KFXM in my bio on my home page info...I bailed out of KFXM, almost took a gig lined up for me at KCBS went to check up on my mom and brother...found myself doing afternoon drive in KEXL the very next day...then went back to playing, writing and singing in 1973....up to 660, or thereabouts original songs, still singing every week....finishing up an interesting book...
